There is something special about falling asleep while listening to lion roar and hyena call, the sounds of the African bush at night. Then, you awake to the chorus of birds starting even before the sun crests the horizon. It’s magical and what safari in Africa is all about. This safari takes you across Northern Tanzania, visiting the best national parks along the way where elephant will surround your vehicle, lion will saunter past you and leopard will watch you from their perch in the trees.

Day 1: Arrive Arusha Arriving into Arusha’s Kilimanjaro airport in the late afternoon, you will be greeted upon arrival by our warm, friendly guides. You will be transferred to a nearby hotel to rest and relax after the long international flight. Enjoying a leisurely dinner, notice the sounds and smells of Africa all around you! Overnight Arusha

Day 2 and 3: Tarangire National Park After breakfast depart Arusha with your guide, who will be your constant companion throughout your safari, for Tarangire National Park.  Spend the next two days in the park observing game such as elephant, wildebeest, zebra and buffalo as they journey back and forth to the Tarangire River, an important source of water in the area. Overnight Tarangire

Day 4-6: Serengeti National Park Enjoy a half-day drive across Tanzania’s heartland, passing red-robed Maasai herding their cattle as well as the Olduvai Gorge, where the oldest hominid fossil was discovered, along the way. Arrive at the famous Serengeti National Park in time for an afternoon game drive, enjoying the mystical, blaze orange sunset as you head to camp. Spend the next two full days rising early to catch the wildlife in peak activity during the early morning hours. Day 7: Drive to the legendaryOlduvai Gorge. The drive to the gorge is breathtaking – passing through a spectacular mix of savannah grassland and volcanic hills, where redrobed Maasai graze their cattle, before it drops steeply down into the gorge itself. The name originated from the Maasai word “ole” meaning “the place of” and “dupai” meaning “wild sisal,” a local plant resembling aloe which grows abundantly in the area. Olduvai is one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological locations. Overnight: Ngornongoro Crater Rim

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Today you’ll experience first hand what has been called “one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.” The crater is home to an amazing concentration and diversity of wildlife, perhaps most importantly the rare black rhinoceros. Drive down the steep walls of the crater, arriving at the crater floor in time for lunch, viewing wildlife the whole time. Overnight: Ngornongoro Crater Rim

Day 9: After breakfast drive back to Moshi, stopping at local markets, a Maasai village and the popular Meserani Snake Park along the way.
