While the vast and wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater can officially lay claim to being one of the “7 Natural Wonders of the World”, you will also end your safari with a climb up Ol Doinyo Lengai another of Tanzania’s natural wonders.

Day 1: Arrive Arusha Arriving into Arusha’s Kilimanjaro airport in the late afternoon; you will be greeted upon arrival by our warm, friendly guides. You will be transferred to a nearby hotel to rest and relax after the long international flight. Enjoying a leisurely dinner, notice the sounds and smells of Africa all around you! Overnight Arusha

Overnight Tarangire

Famous for tree-climbing lions, the park also boasts healthy population of hippo, giraffe and plenty of bird life including flamingoes that reside in the parks namesake alkaline lake. Overnight Lake Manyara

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Today you’ll experience first hand what has been called “one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.” The crater is home to an amazing concentration and diversity of wildlife, perhaps most importantly the rare black rhinoceros. Day 5: Lake Natron after breakfast you will drive out to Lake Natron. Lake Natron is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. Home to millions of tiny crustaceans, the lake is a haven for literally thousands of lesser flamingo's and it is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth.  The area around the lake is dry and desolate.  The strangely beautiful landscape is the attraction in this area.

After and early dinner you will retire for your early wake up call.

Day 6: Climb Ol Doinyo Lengai After the early 2am wake up call and drive to the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, we begin climbing. We will reach the summit around sunrise and spend about 30 minutes soaking in the views and exploring the volcano before descending. Ol Doinyo Lengai, which means "Mountain of God" in the Maa language of the native Maasai people, is a volcano that is part of the greater volcanic system of the Great Rift Valley. It is unique among active volcanoes in that it produces natrocarbonatite lava, which causes it to erupt at significantly lower temperatures than normal lava. The trekking now over, you will be transferred by 4x4 to back to camp for breakfast and a rest before continuing on for your international departure, or onwards safari.
