Daniel HVerified Epic Adventure - Must Do If you are looking for a Private Kilimanjaro Trek, Real Life Adventure Travel is the place for you!My friend and I booked the 8 Day Lemosho Route and a one day safari. Leading up to the trip the owners were very responsive to any questions, comments or concerns. The entire staff (guides, porters, and chefs) were all welcoming and had a wealth of knowledge of the mountain and area surrounding. The guides did a great job setting a pace that was comfortable for us. We were able to reach 2 of the 3 summits on Kilimanjaro as our pace was good and we had the energy for this. They were also always watching their surroundings making us feel very safe along the way. The food on the mountain was top notch. We had fresh produce from start to finish and never went to bed hungry! We had local cuisine and they catered for my friends food allergy as well.Having a small group (2-6 persons) is a nice way to enjoy the mountain. It seemed as though the larger groups were having issues with pace as everyone had different hiking experiences. 7+ days was a very comfortable pace and seems like a great way to enjoy time on the mountain without feeling like you are sprinting to the top. We also had a private toilet - Yes this seems weird or different but we truly enjoyed the ease. I would highly recommend this as sometimes the camp site can be far from the public ones on the mountain.During our experience our expectations were always exceeded. I hope to book another adventure with Real Life Adventure Travel soon!PS: Things I recommend bringing:-Book/ Journal-Deck of cards or card game-Warm clothes for sleeping in-Camp Shoes to get out of sweaty boots-Don't forget your Headlamps and extra batteries-If taking Diamox bring a pee bottle Hugo CVerified Making my dream come true I couldn’t be more happy with the experience I had! I told the company I wanted to go on a one day safari trip. They managed to planned the entire event for me, starting with the transportation from my hotel to the national park (which was a 4h drive), a guide and they were also including a meal, water and beer for the day. They managed to do all this in less than 24h! I honestly recommend it to everybody who wants to visit Tanzania. I swear, if you have a plan in head, they’ll make it happen for you! Tiffany TVerified The Dream Team at Real Life Adventure Travel Our Kilimanjaro climb wouldn’t have been possible without the dream team at Real Life Adventure Travel. Choosing them was hands down the best decision I've ever made! They are a local company with nearly a decade of experience — and true experts in what they do.Our group of three from Canada chose the 8-day Lemosho route with a one-day safari, and from start to finish, Real Life Adventure exceeded all expectations. From the moment we landed, they went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. Hans personally picked us up, helped us get settled in our hotel, and ensured we had everything we needed. Their thorough gear check gave us peace of mind, and they even provided a free hot water bottle — a thoughtful touch that became my best friend during those cold mountain nights. We were then introduced to our head guide, Gaudence, who showed endless kindness and patience throughout the entire trip. With 20-28 years of experience, our two guides were nothing short of incredible. When we encountered medical concerns, they knew exactly what to do, offering expert care that left us feeling reassured and safe. But their support went far beyond just guiding us — they taught us Swahili, looked out for us and made sure we had a good time hiking up the mountain. The team of porters were some of the most selfless, hard-working, and loving individuals I’ve ever met. One moment that especially touched my heart was when one of the porters noticed my shoes were dirty and quietly washed them for me. That simple act of kindness was so moving — it’s this level of care that defines Real Life Adventure Travels. When we finally reached the summit, the team threw us a celebration party — complete with a cake! As if that wasn’t enough, the hotel they arranged afterward felt like paradise — the perfect reward after our journey. They truly thought of everything. If you're considering climbing Kilimanjaro or exploring Tanzania, I can't recommend Real Life Adventure Travels enough. Their expertise, warmth, and dedication to their guests are second to none. Supporting a local company like this not only enriches your experience but also ensures your money goes directly back into the community.Thank you, Real Life Adventure Travels, for the adventure of a lifetime! stephan251Verified Kilimanjaro climb What an adventure, to climb Kilimanjaro. The trip was so great. Awesome guide, funny and very friendly. The entire team was amazing, helping us at every step. I would recommend them not only for the great adventure and team on the field but also for the most important part the preparation before and after the actual adventure. The communication was perfect. They give us lots of information so we know what to come and how to prepare for the trip. Even when everything was finished, they were still there to help. We feel that they care. Thanks for everything. fredh746Verified Solo Summiting of Mt Kilimanjaro at 74 Years Old I had the pleasure of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro on 16 Oct 2024. I am 74 years old and a double cancer survivor. This was my second attempt since 2022. The Real Life Adventure Travel Ltd team was superb. Freddie Chikima's 2 guides and 9 member support team made me feel like family the whole time. The encouragement and spirit of the team meant so much to me. As a solo trekker I sometimes got too much into my own head. The team lead by Pascal and Isaya allowed me to struggle and make progress without allowing me to fail! We had several meetings about course options and I always got the facts and made decisions that the team supported. After the summit I was so fatigued that we decided my continuing down beyond Kosovo to the overnight camp would require tremendous support and most likely mean traveling at night. I decided the risk to all concerned was too great so I asked to be evacuated. The only way was via helicopter which took a lot of coordination by the lead guide to slip the aircraft in during a break in the weather. Absolutely top notch performance. I will come back to Tanzania and do more with RLAT!!! Subhashree RVerified A wonderful, unforgettable experience! Wonderful tours! Would highly recommend! We had an excellent experience right from the time of arrival at the airport for our safari. RLAT made sure that we felt at home and every accommodation and planning of the safari was perfect. Prompt and good care and effective communication was evident throughout our trip! Very professional tour guides! In fact, our special dietary requirements were taken care of through out the trip. Our tour guide, Dhili, made sure that we saw all the big 5 and additional animals including the wildebeest migration!Very happy with our Safari trip! Jagadish UVerified Right from the beginning till end it was an amazing -our driver/guide Dhilli was exceptional/knowledgeable and efficient Awesome - once in a lifetime experience-Good food/ very good hotels / professional/punctual and knowledgeable driver/guide novachik96Verified Summit Success - 8 Day Lemosho with RLAT! I chose to challenge myself with summiting Kili as part of my 50th, and 5 friends joined me. I had worked with Freddy in the past for safari and thankfully chose him and his team for this adventure. Months in the planning, Freddy was always available night or day to answer any and all questions from myself or the group. And there were many :) his patience and expertise ensured we were fully prepared even before we arrived. I personally prefer working with a locally owned and operated group, and RLAT is family run by an experienced team who grew up in the area and worked the mountain as porters and guides. They truly hire the best and treat their employees with the utmost respect and fairness. From beginning to end we were pampered and taken care of by our amazing team. Our guides had a combined 50+ years of experience and monitored our health every morning and night (o2 and heart rates, etc) and really got a feel for our bodies and capabilities. Abel, Emanuel and Mark are top notch professionals and supportive, experienced and fun! From the meals (we could tell at the gate that the other groups were envious of our full hot multi course meal spread compared to their box lunches), to the toilet tent care (a luxury on the mountain) to the hotels selected, to the final celebration at the end (music! Beer! Cake!), we were truly cared for by an awesome team. That team literally made our summit. Don't hesitate to reach out to RLAT for the local, caring touch and your highest chance of success Hannah MVerified Great experience, 100% recommendation We did 7 days on the Machame route with Manase as our head guide and Heriel as assistent guide; and we couldn’t be more happy to have booked this with Real Life Adventure. The organization of everything was seamless. The hotel they booked for us was above average even though we only booked the standard tour, not the luxury one. The crew went above and beyond to make our trek on the mountain comfortable. The tent was a good size for two people + duffle bags + day packs. The private toilet was maybe not essential, but a very welcome comfort for us. We were served fresh, delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When I developed nausea due to altitude the cook brewed me fresh ginger every morning. Manase and Heriel did a medical check and a briefing with us every night about the next day; on summit night they ensured expertly that we reached Uhuru peak. At every point we felt safe and well looked after by them. We could tell that they knew the mountain very well, they pointed out many flowers and animals to us that would have gone unnoticed otherwise. Also, we had really good laughs together :D Jill MVerified Summit with the BEST- Real Life Adventure Travel! When planning our trip to Kilimanjaro we received a recommendation to book with Real Life Adventure Travel. This Tanzania based travel company was amazing and I am passing along the recommendation to look no further and to book your trek and safari with RLAT. From our first contact with the owners, Freddy and Hans, followed by many emails and calls with questions and concerns, they answered all of our questions, gave us great advice and alleviated all of our concerns. From our first meeting at JRO airport with Hans, we were treated with such care- not only caring for us, but actually caring about us and making sure that our trip was wonderful. RLAT hires the best! The wonderful porters and the team looked out for our safety, our comfort and our health, and shared their love of Kili with us.Though camping, we were pampered with how we were treated, the delicious meals, the extras, our coffee delivery to our tent each morning, crews that met us at the end of our days, to greet us with offers to assist with our packs if we desired and all with smiles and songs. Our lead guide and assistant guide showed us the flora and fauna of the mountain, shared lore with us and have such a love for Kilimanjaro that this love of the mountain was contagious. We (two women late 60s) summited with the knowledge and encouragement of our guides. The entire team celebrated our success at a delightful luncheon, complete with music and dancing when we got off of the mountain. When we left, I felt that we were leaving our family. We followed our climb with a Safari that was also so wonderful and such a fantastic way to see the wildlife of Tanzania.Thank you RLAT for the best trip of our lives!
